Property Tax Relief Program

Applications for the new tax relief program will be accepted until August 9th. To be eligible, applicants must own a free-market, non-deed-restricted home, have an income less than 500% of the Federal Poverty Level, and have experienced increased property taxes from 2023 to 2024. The Program offers a minimum rebate of $50 and a maximum of $2,000, calculated on a sliding scale based on income. This program is distinct from the Senior Tax Relief Program, but individuals who applied to the Senior Tax Relief Program in 2024 have automatically applied for this new relief initiative.

Eligibility Requirements for the Pitkin County Property Tax Relief Programs are as follows:

  • Household gross annual income of less than 500% of the Federal Poverty Level (based on 2023 Federal tax returns, and/or current and expected income for 2024)
  • Must own free-market, non-deed-restricted housing in Pitkin County
  • Applicants must have experienced an increase in their property taxes from 2023 to 2024

You can pick up the form in person or drop off your completed application there. Applications can also be picked up and dropped off at the Pitkin County Administration Building at 530 E Main St, Aspen, CO 81611.
