The survey, held every other year, collects information on county services and more

PITKIN COUNTY, COLO. (Oct. 13, 2023) - Pitkin County conducts a biennial Public Satisfaction Survey to gather feedback on county services and community issues. The survey was mailed to randomly selected households throughout the county on Friday, September 29. Those who received the survey in the mail are encouraged to either fill out a paper survey, use the link in the mailer to take it online, or call the phone number listed to take it over the phone. The survey is also available in Spanish.

“Your answers will help us take an important measurement of ‘how we’re doing’ and to understand which county programs are working well or which ones need more attention to meet our community’s expectations. We will use your feedback from this survey to make important decisions about how we operate and prioritize programs now and into the future,” said Francie Jacober, chair of the Board of Pitkin County Commissioners.

Of the taxes collected each year in Pitkin County, the county receives approximately 19% of the property taxes and 22% of the sales taxes. Participation in this survey will help ensure that these funds are providing the best value possible to achieve a safe, healthy, vibrant and sustainable community.

This year, like previous surveys conducted since 2014, the survey aims to capture data from about 500 households in the county. After the statistically valid data is collected, the survey will be opened online to anyone who is interested in providing feedback. This is in an effort to hear from a broader range of voices, including residents who were not included in the initial survey round and those who work or spend time in Pitkin County, but are not residents. This separate survey data set will also be provided to the Board of County Commissioners for decision-making.

Pitkin County thanks community members for their help on this collaborative effort to help make Pitkin County an even better place to live, work, play, visit, and raise a family. Previous survey information can be found at PitkinCounty.com/survey
