The results of the 2016 Pitkin County Community Survey were released to the Board of Commissioners and the public today and nearly all (95%) of residents surveyed rated the County as either an ‘excellent’ or ‘good’ place to live.

The purpose of the every-two-year survey is to assess perceptions about the quality of life and other issues in the community, to objectively assess resident satisfaction with the delivery of County services, and to gather input from residents to help set priorities for improvement.

The survey was conducted by mail, telephone and internet to a stratified random sample of households in all corners of Pitkin County from Aspen to Redstone and including the community of Meredith in the Frying Pan River valley. A total of 515 surveys were completed with a +/- 4.3% margin of error at the 95% confidence level.

“I think our County Commissioners were pleased to learn from the survey that Pitkin County is generally moving in the right direction in terms of the services it provides and the quality of our service delivery,” said County Manager, Jon Peacock. “There is always room for improvement and the BOCC and County staff use the survey findings to shape the work they do,” Peacock said.

The complete survey is available online at www.pitkincounty.com. For more information call Pat Bingham, Community Relations, 970-920-5204.
