[ARCHIVED] Public to Weigh In on New Ambulance Station Design

Three design concepts for a new Aspen Ambulance Station will be unveiled at a public open house on Wednesday, October 10th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pitkin County Health and Human Services building at 0405 Castle Creek Road. The public will have an opportunity to weigh in on what it likes and dislikes about the architectural concepts. The feedback collected will be used in the final building design.

The new building will be constructed next to the Pitkin County Health and Human Services Building in a spot currently occupied by a 14-space employee parking lot. It will replace the more than 25 year old Ambulance Barn now located adjacent to Aspen Valley Hospital.

"We appreciate the feedback we get from the public on our facilities construction projects," said County Manager, Jon Peacock. “Public input was critical helping us design our Sheriff and Administration building downtown. We look forward to the ideas that come forward for this facility,” Peacock said.

The three architectural concepts may be viewed on Pitkin County’s online engagement forum: www.pitkincountyconnect.com. Public comment on the designs is also being collected on Pitkin Connect.

County Commissioners will consider design concepts after public input at a regular meeting to be announced in November.
