PITKIN COUNTY SELECTS DAN BARTHOLOMEW AS ASPEN PITKIN COUNTY AVIATION DIRECTOR
Aspen, Colorado – Pitkin County has selected Dan Bartholomew, MBA, M.S., A.A.E., AICP, ACE, as the next Aviation Director for the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE).
After a nationwide search and in-depth public interview process with ASE Vision Committee Members, Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), along with input from the Airport and County Staff, County Manager Jon Peacock has selected Dan Bartholomew.
Dan Bartholomew comes to ASE with nearly 25 years in the airport management industry. He earned both a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Master of Business Administration from Baker University. He went on to earn the certification of AICP from the American Planning Association and achieved the coveted status of Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) and Airport Certified Employee – Operations from the American Association of Airport Executives. His experiences span the US with his recent role as Principal with Airport Solutions based in Oregon. His prior work experience includes the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority where he served as Vice President of Planning, Engineering and Environmental Management; and the Broward County Aviation Department which includes the Fort Lauderdale International and North Perry Airports, where he rose to the level of Director of Planning and Environmental. He also worked with the City of Aurora, Colorado where he served as both the Planning Supervisor and the Manager of Planning Data Services. His career also includes time with Coffman Associates, Inc as a Senior Airport Planner and various colleges and universities where he has held the titles of Adjunct Instructor.
As Aviation Director, Dan will bring his expertise in community relations, capital planning, and airport leadership to the ASE Team and will support the Community, County and the BOCC as they collectively take the BOCC approved ASE Common Ground Recommendations to the next phase of the process. Dan will begin his role in May.
