Please join us on Thursday, June 30, from 5-6:30 PM MT for a Maroon Bells Comprehensive Recreation Plan Virtual Public Meeting. The public is invited to participate in a virtual meeting over Zoom to provide input and learn more about the Maroon Bells Comprehensive Recreation Management Plan effort.
Pitkin County, the City of Aspen, the White River National Forest, Roaring Fork Transportation Authority, Aspen Skiing Company, and the Aspen Chamber Resort Association are in the initial stages of developing a comprehensive plan to sustainably provide for and manage recreation at the iconic Maroon Bells Scenic Area. This plan will identify sustainable goals for access to and recreation in the Scenic Area while accounting for local economic and other community impacts. All modes of transportation and types of recreation will be considered as part of this planning process.
The involvement of stakeholders and the public from the onset of this effort is critical to ensuring that the project team considers and addresses all interests, ideas, and concerns.
The virtual public meeting will feature brief presentations and interactive discussions on the plan topics, goals, issues, and opportunities. Attendees will also learn more about the youth photo and art contest that the project team is coordinating.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Hoamy.Tran@dot.gov and you will receive a calendar invite with the Zoom meeting link. Please note if you need Spanish translation services, which will be provided.
Please send any questions to Benjamin.Rasmussen@dot.gov.
